I recently visited the former Ottoman Empire, Turkey, for a month. Here’s how I obtained my e-Visa in under 5 minutes!

Disclaimer: Visa Type: Tourist and I hold an Indian Passport. This experience may not be applicable to everyone.

For an e-Visa, you must possess one of the following 4 documents:

1. Active US Visa
2. Active Schengen Visa
3. Active UK Visa
4. Active Ireland Visa

I held both an active US Visa and an active UK Visa, securing a 30-day single-entry visa in under 5 minutes! If you plan a longer trip, I recommend applying for a sticker visa through the standard Gateway International route.

Steps to Obtain an e-Visa:

Step 1: Create Application

Visit the official website to initiate your e-Visa application. Fill in the details and save.

Note: Double-check the details, as they cannot be changed once submitted!

Step 2: Payment

Once the application is submitted, proceed to make the payment.

Step 3: Download the e-Visa!

In less than 5 minutes, I received my e-Visa via email (refer to the image below).

Make sure to obtain a printed copy for check-in and immigration.

Immigration at Turkey:

The immigration process was remarkably ordinary and hassle-free at Istanbul Airport (IST). Upon arrival, there was no significant wait, with an ample number of counters available for foreign nationals. I wasn’t asked any questions, and the agent who stamped my entry appeared least interested, engaging in a video call throughout the process.
